Cornell Diversity Preview WeekendI am on the organizing committee for our department's annual diversity preview weekend, which aims to introduce underrepresented minorities to graduate school and provide interested students with tools to apply and select graduate programs. We developed workshops on personal statements, interviews, grad school finances, elevator pitches and other topics to help equip our attendees with the tools they need to successfully apply to graduate school.

Departmental Equity & Safety CommitteeI am the co-founder and co-chair of our departmental equity & safety committee. My co-chair, Lina Arcila Hernández, and I developed a field safety workshop that we offer to the community twice a year. We also developed and administered a departmental climate survey and are working to use the results of that survey to inform diversity & inclusion efforts in the department. We both represent our department on the school-wide Graduate and Professional Student and Mental Health Committee, where we work closely with the administration to address mental health challenges faced by graduate students.
